Perfection
ever wondered what we perceive perfection as?
Perfection has became an in-grown habit in many of us. However. Not many know dat perfection can be seen with a different point of view. the Christian pt of view.
::extract taken from briomag:: Maybe you try to be the perfect student, athlete, friend or Christian. Can we really attain perfection here on Earth? Perfect is defined as “being entirely without fault or defect.” Unfortunately, our chances of being without fault or defect here on Earth ended the moment Adam and Eve decided to do their own thing, rather than obeying God. “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one’ ” (Romans 3:10-12). Now this shouldn’t cause hopelessness. It simply reminds us that we have no reason to hope in ourselves. Our hope comes from Christ. Let’s see His definition of perfection. In Matthew 5:48 we’re commanded, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Huh? The word perfect in the Greek differs from the original definition. The Greek word is teleois, which means to be complete and mature. Instead of trying to be flawless, Christ desires for us to grow up, to become mature and complete in Him. Perfection means becoming who God intends us to be. This isn’t an extreme overnight makeover. It’s a continual process that Christ leads us through each day.
i'm so impressed by this. seek perfection not by having hopes in ourselves. yet. we have to learn to be complete n mature in Him. Indeed, perfection is becoming who God intends us to be!
